Beautiful and Bold
The Jabra Elite Sport Upgraded is a set of fully waterproof wireless sports earphones with a built-in heart-rate monitor with awesome sound quality.
Water, Sweat & Dust Proof
Jabra Elite sport is IP67 water, sweat and dust resistant which makes them perfect choice for outdoor sports, sweaty workouts and even for swimming.
Jabra Elite Sports upgrade is not a new version by Jabra. It is the upgraded version of Original Jabra Elite Sports with enhanced battery life and sound quality. This upgraded version has a built-in heart-rate monitor as like the original one. It now comes in different colours like lime green-grey edition as well as black.
Along with the improvement in look and battery life, Jabra has done a great job in software enhancement too. The Jabra Sport Life app has been updated. There is new internal equalizer situated in this pair, that allows you to personalize your settings and sound profiles. Existing owners of the original Elite Sport also has these new software features but they won’t get the battery life gains of the new model.
like Original Jabra Elite Sports in-ear headphones, its upgraded version also has the generous amount of bass in the Elite Sports sound profile. As this version is sports in-ear headphone, they’re clearly not balanced for audiophiles. But still, we like that the Elite’s bass doesn’t dominate the rest of the frequencies. Highs and mids levels are still pleasant and you can create your own audio profile.
Equaliser and HearThrough Technology
The software enhancement in upgraded version allows you to create your own audio profile instead of using default one. You can change it using either the basic equaliser (EQ) or traditional equaliser(EQ).There are 4 mics are provided for noise cancellation to isolate music from noise. These pairs came in 3 different sizes (Small, Medium, Large) to fit into customers expectations. Sometimes, because of little bulky design of ear tips can cause little discomfort to the customer to find their best-fit earplugs. It happens only in rare cases mostly because of the size and shape of their ears. But I must say that the most of the people find them super comfortable.
These sports headphone allows you to hear your surroundings while out on a run, for enhanced safety. This technology is called as HearThrough technology, which enables ambient sound to come through. It works, you can generally still hear cars coming up the road about 30-50 meters away even your ears are sealed and music is loud. This feature makes it safer than others for sports purpose.
Each of the earbuds of Jebra Elite Sports features external buttons. The left earbud has the volume up and down buttons which adjust the volume when pressed once, or skip tracks when held. On the other hand, right earbud has a play/pause button as well as an answer/end call function buttons and can activate the “HearThrough” technology (ambient noise pass-through feature when double-pressed). There’s also another button called as activity button which launches the Jabra app when the phone is unlocked. This button can be long-pressed to launch whichever tracking function is on screen at the time. These functional buttons are little small and fiddly but they are easy to access.
Built-in Heart-rate monitor, Maps and Planned Training
Jabra Elite Sport uses the phone’s GPS signal – through the Jabra Sport app – to track runs. It’s as reliable and consistent for tracking as a GPS-powered smartwatch. The same is true of the heart-rate sensor, cadence and pace calculations. Jabra Sport app uses phone’s GPS signal to track runs. It’s consistent and reliable for tracking as a GPS- powered smartwatch.Heart rate data tracked by Jabra was one to two beats per minute different and distance tracked was a few metres different. This difference occurred because the activity started/stopped at slightly different times on each device. Likewise, the cadence is also showed one to two steps per minute difference. Overall, I can say that the Jabra is pretty much as accurate as the hardcore sports watch on the market, which is pretty decent going for a pair of earphones.
The reason why Jabra launched an updated version of the Original Jebra Elite Sport was to give better battery life. And after testing I must say that they have done their job great. The Jebra company claims that the built-in batteries of new edition last 50 percent longer than the previous model. This claim has proven correct in our testing.
These earphones last for up to 4.5 hours of continuous play time before needing to be docked again, when taken out of their case fully charged. These case itself enough power sufficient to fully charge the earphones twice over. This results in the total of 13.5 hours battery use before needing to be plugged into a power source using the Micro-USB cable. This Battery improvement made these headphones more incredible.
